It was just too bad that Hibari did not take that insult well. A quick as a flash, he's hoisting the small boy up into the air by the back of his robe. Conan's light enough that he doesn't have any trouble in doing so, keeping the boy at eye level. It's not resigned amusement that dances in his golden eyes anymore - Conan might be able to see fire sparking in those unnatural pupils that stare into his own calculatingly.
"A normal child of your age would not be observant enough to notice that thief. This childish facade you use to deter anyone from asking more questions than needed does not work as well as you think it does." A pause to draw breath, before he continues. He doesn't care if he's being particularly harsh. "I am not an ignorant herbivore, easily fooled by cheap acting."
His other hand is now held up right next to the detective's ear - oh wait, it's just burst into flame! Isn't that pleasant, Conan? The heat radiating from it should assure the boy that it is very much real, and not just a magician's trick, designed to impress and awe weaker minds.
"I should burn your tongue out for your insolence." Abuse of denizen powers? Why the hell not.
