bestamontillado: (Because I want what I want)

Spade couldn't really say that being alive again was something he expected; as much as the Vongola Rings meant that "dying" hadn't been permanent the first time, there was a big difference between ending up a disembodied spirit body-jumping with an artifact right there to use as an anchor, and not having any such anchor or his powers, dying, and waking up at...

Well however long later it was; he went out to try to find that out, this time being a ~bit~ more prepared - grabbing one of the swords (even if it was mostly to toss to someone else) and the the Tarnhelm before sneaking out, because being able to go check things out invisibly was much preferable to possibly getting shot/stabbed/etc. again.

No, he wasn't getting on the boat; he honestly wouldn't be surprised, at this rate, if the Rulers had a kraken or something. Boat not moving? Yeah, not a huge surprise.

And as much as using something the Rulers gave him at a time like this was risky, he knew damn well what the best weapon he had was when it did turn into a fight - not the sword, not any hypothetical spear, but the Tarnhelm. They wanted Fafnir, they could bloody well have Fafnir; after the last few days, having a good target to not-so-metaphorically sharpen claws and take things out on sounded ~wonderful~.

And that would be why there is, somewhat abruptly, a large, low to the ground armored dragon, venom dripping from its jaws, going after the forces on the beach.
