This is going to go a certain way! Each time there is a visitation by a ghost, we will post a thread. Then, we will respond to that thread, if you indicate you want us to do so, or if you will have other characters in the thread. Remember, the Ghost of Christmas Past will have all your characters in the same moment of time, so if you want to be able to interact with each other, go ahead. Additionally, you will be viewing the moment in time that your denizen was killed from a third person perspective, so you can meet up with anyone during that time, but you cannot talk to your denizen. Once your denizen is dead, you are free to move around the island.

During the viewing with the Ghost of Christmas Present, you will be in the same situation, but only able to view things within your own canon. This means you can’t really speak to anyone but the NPC of the Ghost, which will be played by the mods.

For when The World shows up, we will have a separate thread for her and Kuma will be responding to you with her. You can freely talk to anyone here as well, in the game.

I suppose? I'll relay to you what occurred and defer to your judgement.

In walking through this ridiculous saccharine attempt at Christmas cliches, the American version of Father Christmas was within castle walls, along with another woman dressed as one of the elves - revealingly so, which I'm not even going to try and understand the reasons for. At any rate, upon arrival the following was said, verbatim: "Seems this lovely woman wanted me to help you get home, but I’ve noticed you’ve been very naughty this year. I’ll have to punish you."

From there it was a minion escort him, a letter of explanation that what would follow is quote-un-quote punishment and a reminder of one's place.

It occurs to me that re-reading that piece of paper might be a good idea.

[ She's taking in all the information - and taking it seriously too, honestly! - but she can't help but remark one thing in that story.. ]

.. 'Revealingly so', huh. [ Somehow she's glad Amakusa didn't go. :| At least, not as far as she knows.. ]

The clothing choice was strange, since it was awfully cold out. Why are you so concerned with that detail?

[entreats]

[ LIKE SHE'S GOING TO SAY OUT LOUD WHY SHE'S CONCERNED. Nope, nope, way too embarassing, steering around this topic. ]

It just stood out. [ Thank god for her pokerface ability. ] I didn't think the Rulers cared about stuff like that to begin with.

Then neither should we. What do you make of the rest of it?

That they're just putting up their stupid little plays again. They really do like making everything symbolic, don't they? [ She still isn't over that one time they made the 'princes' kiss the 'princesses' awake. Worst and most embarassing moment of her life. ]

People are symbolic creatures, it probably helps turn the fear up. [he sighs and takes a long sip of his tea] So this is normal and we what, carry on like this isn't even happening?

[entreats]

As long as we don't want to play right along with them, that is. [ And Ange sure isn't planning on that.. ]

Ignoring it and not getting upset over it would be the last thing they want us to do. At most we can conclude we learned some things here about what is possibly the past.

[gordianknots]

Hm, but my question is what is and isn't playing along with them. They may also anticipate a pointed lack of response to this and attempt to turn the volume up until one cracks. I know I would.

I had that thought too about the deaths seen. I don't know how many people will be willing to talk about what they've witnessed though, and now seems an inopportune moment to ask.

[entreats]

[ She shrugs at the very part. Honestly, she thinks they'll do it either way, no matter whether they do or don't react, so it doesn't even matter.. ]

Do you think the deaths are significant? Doesn't it just boil down to them being killed by those minions?

[gordianknots]

They could be, they could not be. If they're isolated and we have no context as to what event brought them about, then the worst done is that we were faced with spectacle signifying nothing in the greater scheme of things.

.. So in other words, you think we learned nothing at all?

[gordianknots]

I think that's a possible conclusion, yes. It is possible the rulers are being teases with this whole thing. Would it be correct to assume that doing so would be usual for them?

[entreats]

It wouldn't be incorrect, at least. They tend to do things that serve no purpose other than infuriating us all the time.

[gordianknots]

And this would be a wonderful way to do it.

[he sighs, finishing up the last dregs of tea] Has there ever been an event comparable to this one? Stiles still has my archival materials, so I can't reference.

[entreats]

[ .. Stiles? Having his-- wait, he gave them away to someone else? She doesn't decide to ask out loud, but the question does cross her mind. ]

Not one where we all saw things that aren't actually there on this island with all of us together, as far as I know.

[gordianknots]

[He is so going to talk to that boy about extended borrowing.]

Oh good then, they're getting creative with ways to fuck with us.
