I'll Make a Man Out of You
Character/s: Renne; anybody
Time: Tuesday, August 30 -- Late Morning
Location: Arcanarum; The Forest's Edge
Summary: Renne's walking and got his cane, thanks to Minato. Now, with a first step toward "man"hood, Renne sets his mind on his ultimate goal: Finding the local authority and discovering what's wrong with him and why.
He'd finally finished his cane.
Amid figuring out how to properly repay Minato for his assistance, Renne gives the thing a final tactile once-over. Smooth, good. Straight, good. Solid, good. Now, the tip...His fingers flick the improvised roller he'd fashioned out of a stone and some strands of his hair. That part had hurt quite a bit but it proves to be worth it so far, given how strong his people's hair tends to be.
Now, the moment of truth.
Although he blocks his mind from thinking about ...him... Renne recites the rules he'd learned and had kept beloved in his mind despite the taint that had come upon them. Gods are after all, wise in their own ways. Steady breaths, a rhythmic recitation of "The Rules" and Renne slowly but surely rises to stand on two feet once more.
His posture might be odd and his digitigrade manner might frighten some (Even in Rhy'Din his appearance had done so), but he stands straight up for the first time since the Great Betrayal.
Renne Arc'err almost smiles, a step closer to growing up than he might comprehend.

If, however, Renne happens to pass by, and Minato happens to look up, he'll almost certainly say a, "Good morning, Renne," if nothing else.
(( ooc: I want to tag, obviously, but I'm afraid Minato's been sticking really close to the lake lately. ))
(( No prob. Sorry for the slowfail))
Cane in hand and wielded in the diagonal method he knows to use, Renne takes another direction to his walking. In his other, he bears a tiny parcel and upon hearing that 'Good morning', Renne can't help but smile a little.
"Eee. Hellow, Mee-toe."
Don't worry about it! C:

He's curious now. Amid blushing slightly, Renne turns and navigates toward Minato's voice. Smelling water, Renne's ears give a flick of appreciation.
"Wha-t do Sahn mean?"

He likes learning anything and getting that perhaps English is not Minato's first language, Renne's ears perk forward in fascination.
"Wha-t yeu do lang-widge tawk?"

He falls silent, adding a few more lines to his drawing while Renne asks his other question. But then he looks up again.
"Um... Japanese."

He's not trying to insult Minato's heritage or his language. Rather, he's both trying to learn and compliment it -- as many Drow as he's known, he'd learned a little of the language and, like the High Elven tongue...Renne had found it a beautiful sound to his ears.

Now he's fascinated. Dropping to sit on the ground near the water's edge, Renne's ears flick back, then forward as his skin gives a tiny flash of colour. Except now he's not quite sure what to say or ask in the name of remaining polite.
