[EVENT] Boat Building Log

Who: France, Portugal, and YOU!
When: September 24th, all day
Where: North of the island, in various locations in the Rose District and the Docks
What: France and Portugal are implementing their boat plan into action. People help build a completed boat!
Warnings: Probably some mild language (either from hitting hands with hammers or minions stealing supplies).

(( ooc: All threads should be organized under the three threads below! You may lock threads as needed, or keep them open to everyone, it's up to you!

The Supply Gathering thread is for those characters who are going to be imagining up building supplies and nails and hammers and the like, in order to send them to the docks! You will be managed under Francis/France, who will be flitting from house to house to make sure people are summoning the right parts. When things start getting stolen, he'll also start summoning missing parts to try and make up for lost time.

The Building thread is for those characters who are going to be actually creating the boat on the docks! Occasionally, characters from the supply gathering camp will come and deliver things to you guys! You'll be managed under Afonso/Portugal, who will be making sure you're building according to his blueprints. Also be sure to look out for those pesky minions who will be stealing supplies and bogging down the boat-making process. Someone may have to start guarding the supplies, but you'll also have to hurry on the boat!

Lastly, the Provision Gathering thread is for after the boat is built. This is for helping summon weapons and food and storing it into the hold of the ship. These weapons can later be used in the fight against the minions later, but any guns will have a very limited ammo supply because the minions will catch everyone by surprise! Any actual fighting of the minions will be carried out in the log posted on the 4th of April.

France, open to everyone!

France had been keeping himself quite busy the night and morning before, making sure everything tonight went off without a hitch. Thankfully, at midnight, many had shown up as he and Portugal had arranged. It was showing in his face that he hadn't slept at all, but he was keeping himself busy, marking off parts he'd already assigned to his helpers, going door to door in the rose district making sure everyone was staying on task, and more importantly, making sure everything stayed on schedule. They still had a fighting chance if things ran smoothly, and for all intents and purposes he was intending to keep it that way.

So here comes Prussia to report for duty on imagining up the various items necessary to build a boat. Of course he was going to help with this as his Navy had been virtually non-existent so he really had no talent for ship building.

"Can I imagine the sails up?!" he wondered as he came over to France.

"Non, non, I have some of the others on the sails, already. You are stronger. I need you to carry the heavier parts." Francis was glad Prussia was being so enthusiastic about everything, but it was difficult when he had everything so perfectly timed. "Would you mind taking the foremasts, though? We need a few more of those still."

He looks disappointed for a moment. Sails were not only the only part he actually knew when it came to boats, but he could have made such awesome sails, complete with a little bird pattern.

"Ja, foremasts," he agreed, a little reluctantly. Never mind that he didn't know what a foremast was. Was that the piece that held up the sail? Or was it the long piece that stuck out in front?

While the sails were important, having the mast and the yards was going to be more important, as they held the sails. Without those, the sails would never go up.

Francis got the blueprints of the ship out, and motioned to the top of the mast. Seeing as the mast had to be so large, they had to have it brought in sections, and clamped together with metal fasteners.

So France also imagined a small, almost toy boat version of the ship he had in mind, in order to show the part he had in mind for Prussia to summon on the little toy ship. "The foremast, that is what you will need to bring. Otherwise we cannot attach the rest."

Prussia looked at the little toy model, it was really too bad they couldn't just imagine up a ship, oh well.

He really did wish he could make the mast have awesome birds... but he could imagine the paint on the foremast any color he wanted.

"What are the measurements?" he leans over to look at the blueprints, a little more enthusiastic.

Sadly, the ship would end up being too small unless they built it by hand.

Francis sighed and dug through his papers, finding another picture of the mast that had the measurements on it. He finally told Prussia the exact measurements, marking off how big it had to be in the room they were in by standing the length of the foremast away from Prussia.

Prussia nodded indicating he understood the measurements and focused, the first attempt was little more than a stick. The second was a scale model, about the size of the toy's length.

He kept doing some models decorating them various colors. One was sky blue with yellow birds on it. Another was pink and deep blue in candy cane stripes. Yet another was every color of the rainbow. He even made one have little Fleur-de-lis's.

France was getting a little annoyed at the failed attempts, mostly because they were obnoxious colors and ridiculous patterns. But those he could partially live with, if Prussia would just get it the right size. He took away all the rejects and sort of piled them in a corner for later.

"Prussie, you need to concentrate. Concentrate harder on the size of the mast, s'il te plaît."

"Oi! I was just seeing which one looks best! Kesese~" he smirked.

Finally, having decided on the one he liked the best as a model, he concentrated and a large mast, almost perfectly sized, maybe a little bigger than necessary, appeared. It had the top fifth and bottom fifth painted black with the middle part painted white.

Of course Prussia would summon something akin to his flag. It wasn't that Francis minded it, but...

"... Prussie... you do realize we will be spotted instantly with this, non? The point is to conceal ourselves as much as possible."

"Oi! It's awesome looking! How can something awesome not be easy to conceal! Kesesese~" Prussia punctuated his statement with a wide, probably a touch maniacal, grin.

"Regardless of how... 'awesome'... it looks, it is too easy to spot! We would be caught instantly with this! We are trying to be discreet!" He had learned his lesson with his flamboyant uniforms in previous years.

However, even though France and Prussia are working so hard, you're going to have a minion pop up and take the wind from your sails! Or...in this case, just take the sail. They disappear with a small, high pitched giggle, know this will put a little kink in your plan.

Sora wasn't used to imagining things and suddenly they appear out of thin air. So thinking of certain boat parts was a little out there for her. However, she was able to get some sturdy nails and tools out of the process.

At least she's trying.

[ Different tasks was a good enough excuse to dump Amakusa for a few moments. She had told him to go and work on building the boat, considering he was pretty strong so even though he disliked physical labor he would be a great help, while she would go and help imagining things. As much as she actually likes being around him, a moment of air is never bad, really.

It's then that she runs into the other girl, but she isn't speaking up just yet - just staring a little as Sora tries to imagine some tools. ]

Francis had checked all the other houses in the Rose district; hers was the last stop for a while, and honestly, he had best help summon up a few things - people were starting to mention that parts had been going missing. And he had sworn that sail had already been made! He even saw a few people working on it!

He stepped into Sora's house with a deep sigh. Francis was tired, very tired. But he couldn't give up now.

"How is everything going?"

Yoko arrived at midnight like many other residents, getting rid of that dreadful robe for more work appropriate clothing. She decided to filter through the three groups since she knew her way around all of them but first, she wanted to go visit with France. He looked too exhausted for her own liking.

She approached him quietly and gently tapped his shoulder as she peeked around to smile at him. Yoko held out a mug with warm tea still steaming and then moved to stand beside him.

"Don't overwork yourself too much now," She replied; in a tone she used often with her students," The battle hasn't started..yet."

Francis was far too preoccupied in his own mind to realize Yoko was behind him, up until she tapped his shoulder. He had so many things to do; he had to instruct people where to go, what to do, and most importantly, how to do it. He had to make sure he separated people mentally by what they could do into different task forces. If anything good was to be said about this situation, it was that his strategist mind as a Nation was still as strong as ever and was perfectly suited for this task.

But when Yoko tapped him, he sort of lost his thoughts for a moment, turning to see who it was. He didn't say anything for a moment as he gratefully accepted the tea mug from her, though he did mutter a soft "merci" as he blew on the steaming liquid. He wouldn't want to burn his tongue.

"I am constantly overworked in my life away from this island, ma chère." He spoke with a bit of a teasing smile. "If anything, it is just like home." Then, he let out a sigh, gently moving into a bit more of a relaxed position as he took a small sip of his tea. "One thing I have learned over the years is that everything is a constant battle. While it cannot be expected, it is always good to be prepared for something." After all, the Rulers could be watching them right now.

Her lips curled up into a bigger smile at the soft thank you. Or..at least she assumed was a thank you. Yoko wrapped her fingers more around her own cup before taking a small sip.

If he was just as busy outside the island, Yoko felt a bit bad to know how this may be just easy for him to handle. But it didn't stop her from being a constant worry-wart. She wouldn't admit it but he had been nothing but kind to her and she was grateful for that. Yoko tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she listened.

"I will have to agree with you on that," Yoko chuckled," even after my war days and I settled down as a teacher...behind my chalk board I keep all my artillery weapons for just in case purposes. It is always good to be familiar with your surroundings and what you can do to use it to your advantage."

"For our situation, I will agree..preparedness is the best option. I hope this goes well though, what shall we do once we safely leave?"

"Oho, a teacher?" Francis smiles, the smallest glint of mischief in his eyes. "And still a soldier... mon Dieu, you are a remarkable sort of woman." He let out a small chuckle. "Is there anything more you're hiding about your amazing talents?"

Francis nodded softly at Yoko's last comment, and paused to process her question. "If all goes well, we will find a place where we can settle, temporarily, and search for ways to send everyone home. There are plenty of people here from places that are not my Earth - as you are, I believe, and many others. If this island is anywhere on the Earth I know, we may find laboratories and the like to speed things along. If it is not on any map... we may have to search more. And it may be that we have to return to this island... but we will be ready if we do."

Even prior to knowing of this attempt, Louis had been practicing thoroughly with the summoning ability. It had stonewalled him many times, but by now he was at least good with it. It was not so different from certain abilities that demons held, after all.

He doubted this would be so easy, but of all things, he was willing to encourage any escape attempt. Malkuth and the Abyss might well be ruined by now. It all rested on Aleph, and he preferred not to leave everything to that man.

So when the time came, he was there as if he always had been. The problem was how little he knew about boats. "What do we need?" he asked, without preamble.

Francis seemed lost in his own world a bit when Louis approached him, at least at first. But when he was spoken to, Francis looked up and smiled a bit sheepishly. "Ah, pardonnez-moi, Louis." He let out a soft laugh, scratching the back of his neck. "Mm, we will need plenty of things, still. If you can summon some boards for the deck, I would appreciate it."

He dug through the many blueprints and papers he had piled up in his workspace, which had essentially become the Headquarters for this project. Finally he found the appropriate blueprint, laying it out carefully in front of Louis. "These boards will need to be half the size of this room. If one at a time is easier, fine, if all at once, fine."

I'M JUST AS BAD.

He nodded slowly, leaning over to study the blueprint with sharp eyes. It was definitely not a bad one. "Just stay over here. I don't want to hit you," he warned carelessly. "Do you need me to do it inside here or should I call them elsewhere?"

Francis nodded, not moving from the spot he found himself. "I will," He called back just as nonchalantly, until Louis asked him another question. That drew a little sigh from him. "Either is fine, I do not mind. I just want to make sure we have them, that's all."
