[EVENT] Boat Building Log

Who: France, Portugal, and YOU!
When: September 24th, all day
Where: North of the island, in various locations in the Rose District and the Docks
What: France and Portugal are implementing their boat plan into action. People help build a completed boat!
Warnings: Probably some mild language (either from hitting hands with hammers or minions stealing supplies).

(( ooc: All threads should be organized under the three threads below! You may lock threads as needed, or keep them open to everyone, it's up to you!

The Supply Gathering thread is for those characters who are going to be imagining up building supplies and nails and hammers and the like, in order to send them to the docks! You will be managed under Francis/France, who will be flitting from house to house to make sure people are summoning the right parts. When things start getting stolen, he'll also start summoning missing parts to try and make up for lost time.

The Building thread is for those characters who are going to be actually creating the boat on the docks! Occasionally, characters from the supply gathering camp will come and deliver things to you guys! You'll be managed under Afonso/Portugal, who will be making sure you're building according to his blueprints. Also be sure to look out for those pesky minions who will be stealing supplies and bogging down the boat-making process. Someone may have to start guarding the supplies, but you'll also have to hurry on the boat!

Lastly, the Provision Gathering thread is for after the boat is built. This is for helping summon weapons and food and storing it into the hold of the ship. These weapons can later be used in the fight against the minions later, but any guns will have a very limited ammo supply because the minions will catch everyone by surprise! Any actual fighting of the minions will be carried out in the log posted on the 4th of April.

"I'm just doing a bit of inspecting," he said, not wanting to give away the fact that he had been worried about the women working. It was a different time, he supposed. Still, it was strange to him... Women doing manual labor. But this lady looked tall and strong. "If you'd like any pointers, just let me know!"

"Ohhh I see," She chuckled as she continued hammering away. Yoko glanced up at him," What do you know? I haven't built a boat before honestly but it seems similar to building a house."

"There are a few similarities," replied England. "Boats are made to float, houses are not. So there are different things you have to do, changes you have to make. Obviously you don't anchor a ship down." He grabbed a few nails from his belt so that he could hold them for her when she wanted to hammer the next plank.

Yoko smiles, pausing in her work to give him an amused look. She turned back to her work after a moment," Very obviously."

She works silently and diligently. Sometimes holding her hand out for a few more nails then back to her own little world. After a few minutes Yoko sighs," Say-- how do you get the wood to become curved?

"Steam," said England, pleased with the woman's curiosity. "You need wood that isn't too thick, of course. Just thin planks. You can also soak them in warm water for a while, and then they'll be pliable."

Her eyes widen and she looks pleasantly surprised," Wow. That is pretty interesting. Well--to make the base then we'll have to soak some planks in warm water. Do you want to do it together?"

England's grinned faltered just the slightest bit. That was a man's work, wasn't it? His thoughts brought him back to Saber, the woman who was a knight and a king. If she was inspirational, then why was this woman not? Maybe it had something to do with their physique; even though Saber was a tiny thing, she actually could pass for a boy. But this woman... His thoughts were conflicted and it took him a few seconds to answer.

"Y-yes, of course," he finally replied. He would have to try to get used to this. "By... the way, my name is... Arthur."

She noticed the slight falter and Yoko was a it confused. Did she say something wrong. Yoko was about to ask her concerns when he replied. He seemed fine now but Yoko couldn't help but still feel a little concerned there was something amiss. People were weird.

Yoko smiled back to him and slowly stood up now, dusting her knees off.

"Then lets get started," She said and held out her hand," ..It's nice to meet you Arthur. I'm Yoko."

A handshake! Something he was not used to seeing a woman do at all. He shook without hesitating this time. He would get to know Yoko as a person, not as a woman. Hadn't his John Locke believed in equality for all men? Well, white men, and not women. But England felt the need to try.

"Yoko. I am happy to work with you."
