[EVENT] Battle Log One

Warnings: Possible death, violence and cursing, so PG-13. Remember, if you die, you will resurrected by The Rulers and shackled. If you are injured, you will be immediately shackled and grouped with the others. We will be posting to this log as minions.


While the minions kept stealing items, it didn’t seem like that stopped the denizens from doing what they wanted to. This did not please the Rulers, no, not one bit! So, as the boat took off, the Emperor took the literal wind away from the sails, making the ocean a still as could be. There is a long moment of complete silence; no trees ruffling in the wind, no leaves rolling down the cobblestone streets of the districts, nothing.

At the beach, the minions begin to appear, giggling oddly and looking at the boat with malicious grins. Some of them are carrying weapons, some of them with glowing hands that signify magic. Behind them are Justice and Judgment, looking grim as they signal the attack. The minions begin their attack, either with weapons or magic, aiming directly for the boat and the passengers.

Hibari, surprisingly enough, doesn't kick the wizard away. Not that he can really move his feet, what with the shackles around his ankles as well - it gives him some cold comfort that he's the only one that's trussed up like this, actually. It means that they think he's more dangerous than the rest.

And rightly so. But he stays quiet, watching the wizard get back to trying to pull the chains away.

Hibari's shoes are getting in the way. He pulls them off first without asking permission then goes back to tugging.

Eventually, he manages to get the chain to hook around the base of the other man's feet and has to rest for a bit. Hope you're not ticklish, Hibari, because he has to pull this down the sole and around the toes still.

Rude!

Well, there's not much he can do, is there? So he sits on the ground patiently, waiting for the other to regain his strength (and inwardly seething at how he has to have someone else help him.)

"Well, there is always work for a Teddie to do!" He said, smiling, "I know what it's like to feel helpless...and useless. That's what happened with Nana-chan got hurt. But...I was able to bear up and grin it with the help of my friends, so I want to help other people bear up!"

Teddie nodded and grinned. "And you are brave! It's okay for the brave ones to be afraid and upset though, because that's important too."

"True, but I still don't really think I'm sold on the whole magic idea. It's a little too supernatural for my tastes." Shouichi said, even thought there was proof all around him that magic ran this place.

"Do you know anything about magic?"

"A little," he replied. "I'm a wizard."

Fat lot of help that is when he can't even access magic right now. He'd give anything to have his fire demon here right now to help him.

Grr--! Stupid. Chains. Come. Off...!

Howl topples backwards again as the loop of chain slides over Helios' feet. He quickly sits back up, grinning widely. It should be easier to pull the rest off now - which he starts doing.

Oh, freedom to move his feet! Wonderful. He lifts his legs as far as they can go obligingly, so Howl can pull the rest off - well, that was easier than he'd thought. He'd have to repay the man somehow, later on.

Really? Really? Did he just spit on one of those stupid little creatures?

Well, alright, it was actually pretty funny to watch, but he wasn't about to show it. No need to encourage him. Shaking his head slowly, he bit back a snarky comment as he began to pull away from the red glob on the ground. "Pissin' 'em off won't do us any good," he remarked instead, trailing along behind the other captives, "Try to be useful and help me think of a way to escape."

Shit. If he only had his explosives, life would be so much easier.

Howl's not being very subtle with this, so it's a wonder none of the minions or the two Rulers come over to re-wrap the chains. A little longer and then the last loop is pulled off, freeing Helios completely. Howl is out of breath from all the shuffling about.

"Will that...do...?" Huff, huff.

[solitarynuvola]

"... Good enough." He gets to his feet, slipping on his shoes then stepping out of the pile of chains. The manacles around his feet clink with every move - it's a nasty reminder of his limited freedom, as he walks around the dome, watching as the fight continues on outside the magic bubble. It's quite frustrating, not being able to get out and fight again - the dull ache of his broken bones is starting to set in, and he gingerly presses a hand to his cheek to feel for the crack in the bone.

Eventually, he circles back around to Howl and sits again, reaching for the manacles around his feet and giving them an experimental tug. They don't move very far, so he gets his fingers underneath the metal cuffs and pulls again, harder. Finally making use of his above-average strength to get rid of them.

How can the guy walk like that with several broken ribs?? Wait. This guy's a god. Of COURSE he can.

Howl watches as the shackles yield from sheer brute force.

"Incredible," is all he says.

Because he's too proud to succumb to the urge to sit and rest, not while there's fighting to be done - the ankle shackles are spun around once, twice, on his fingers, before he throws them at the curved surface of the dome. It hits the wall and makes it bulge outwards, with a noise much like a bell being struck, but it doesn't break through.

Instead, it comes shooting back at Hibari - but he catches the shackles easily, as if he's used to toying with such things.

"What a pity," he murmurs, fiddling around with them. It reminds him of his Cambio Forma, before Sawada forced them to destroy the Vongola Rings...

"Why a pity?" Howl asks. He's regained his breath and remains seated on the ground. The cuffs on his ankles dig uncomfortably into his legs if he sits cross-legged, so he puts his knees up.

"The walls won't break." Around and around his finger the cuffs go - despite what one might think, handcuffs are actually decent weapons. Maybe he could get Justice back on the way to the castle. Because that was inevitable - of course these unruly subjects had to be punished. It was what he'd do.

Funny. Maybe Hibari should ingratiate himself with the Rulers and find a way back for them from the inside. Too bad it would be suspicious now after trying so hard to attack them.

"Oh, yes. They don't want us to escape," says the wizard complacently. He's already tried, of course.

Ugh, no. The very idea of sucking up to these herbivorous Rulers and influencing them from the inside rankled him - he wasn't a spy, he believed in a straight approach, a blunt approach. And he believed in sweeping aside everything in his way.

Hibari scowls at the wizard's words - he'd already worked that out for himself, thank you very much - and starts working on pulling the restraints around his wrists free. These ones, though, seem to be made of sterner stuff than the ankle shackles, because they don't give way to his probing and prying. Most likely, they're spelled to keep anyone from being able to take them off.

"...They won't come off?" Howl purses his lips, thinking. Off the top of his head, he can recite spells that might have been able to get them out of this predicament. It's frustrating that he can't use any of them.

[solitarynuvola]

"Obviously." He ends up glaring at the chain linking the cuffs together, as if his glare alone will cause them to melt.

Obviously, they don't. Ugh, magic.

"Magic shouldn't be used for this purpose..." he murmurs. "If this was my world, the king would have sent several magicians to stop them." He might have even sent Howl, and Howl would have tried to duck out of the responsibility. Still, something like this might have motivated him to put a stop to them.

"... You're a wizard?" He turns curious eyes towards Howl - do tell him more. The cuffs are ignored for now, though he doesn't forget their presence on his wrists, prickling at his senses - this is a much more interesting revelation.

Howl affects a surprised look. Hibari doesn't know? Oh wait, few here do. This isn't Ingary where his reputation is well known.

"Yes. Though I never finished my schooling." Because he dropped out prematurely.

"Tch , I know that, doesn't mean it wasn't satisfyin' as hell."

G let out a sigh, starting to slip into a more work focused frame of mind. He didn't seem too perturbed about being lead off somewhere unfamiliar. At the very least they would be tucked away and hopefully not guarded as heavily. That was usually the best time to sneak out. For now he would just commit the path in to memory so there wouldn't be any blunders while fleeing.

"For now, best thing to do is wait it out. Find out where the weakest link is to slip through."

He hums thoughtfully, storing that in his mind - a wizard could come in handy afterwards, against the Rulers. He doesn't question the 'magic' bit - clearly, it existed, because hey! They were trapped in a prison of magic right now!

"Interesting." That's all he says, before he closes his eyes and turns away. And somehow manages to fall asleep, even with the low murmur of conversation within the dome, and the muted battle sounds from outside.

"...You're kidding right?" Shouichi said, looking highly skeptical for someone who came from a world where people used magical flames to fight with each other, "Magic isn't real."
