[EVENT] Battle Log One
Who: Everyone
When: September 25, Late Evening
Where: The docks
What: The Minions Attacking
Warnings: Possible death, violence and cursing, so PG-13. Remember, if you die, you will resurrected by The Rulers and shackled. If you are injured, you will be immediately shackled and grouped with the others. We will be posting to this log as
minions.
While the minions kept stealing items, it didn’t seem like that stopped the denizens from doing what they wanted to. This did not please the Rulers, no, not one bit! So, as the boat took off, the Emperor took the literal wind away from the sails, making the ocean a still as could be. There is a long moment of complete silence; no trees ruffling in the wind, no leaves rolling down the cobblestone streets of the districts, nothing.
At the beach, the minions begin to appear, giggling oddly and looking at the boat with malicious grins. Some of them are carrying weapons, some of them with glowing hands that signify magic. Behind them are Justice and Judgment, looking grim as they signal the attack. The minions begin their attack, either with weapons or magic, aiming directly for the boat and the passengers.
Good luck, denizens.

Well, alright, it was actually pretty funny to watch, but he wasn't about to show it. No need to encourage him. Shaking his head slowly, he bit back a snarky comment as he began to pull away from the red glob on the ground. "Pissin' 'em off won't do us any good," he remarked instead, trailing along behind the other captives, "Try to be useful and help me think of a way to escape."
Shit. If he only had his explosives, life would be so much easier.

G let out a sigh, starting to slip into a more work focused frame of mind. He didn't seem too perturbed about being lead off somewhere unfamiliar. At the very least they would be tucked away and hopefully not guarded as heavily. That was usually the best time to sneak out. For now he would just commit the path in to memory so there wouldn't be any blunders while fleeing.
"For now, best thing to do is wait it out. Find out where the weakest link is to slip through."

He couldn't shake off the feeling that something bad was going to happen. And, if not bad, just highly annoying. At the same time though, his curiosity was enough to keep him from arguing against waiting it out. Maybe he'll find out more information on this damn place if he went along with whatever route the minions were leading them on. It was about time for some action. Or, at least, more action than the past hours had provided for him.

G was far from expecting anything pleasant and seemed to just give in to whatever was going to happen. Really, what were they going to do? Kill him? Not that he wasn't confident in finding some lucky break where they get to sneak out, he was just under the assumption that doing so was going to hurt. That was usually how things went in general for him and Giotto when they did stupid shit and got in trouble for it back in the day.

At least he wasn't particularly worried about getting killed. If the minions had wanted to do that, they'd have done it already instead of making them play follow the leader.
But, anyway, while they were traipsing along behind the rest of the group, Gokudera decided it might be the perfect (or just convenient, really) time to confront his predecessor about their... issue with one another. He wasn't exactly thrilled about the prospect, but it wasn't like he had anything better to do at this point.
"So," he started, brows creasing, "we need to talk." He would have been more straightforward with the topic of discussion if he knew how to approach it. But, since he didn't, he was going to just begin with that statement until the right words pop up in his mind.

Still, it wasn't like he was busy to run off and do something. He would wait for the kid-
Well, he wasn't a kid anymore. Odd how long it was taking him to get used to that.
Anyway, he was willing to wait for his successor to speak him mind.

Man, he could do for a smoke right about now. He had a feeling the conversation was going to be intense if not completely out of control. Too bad he left the bag back in the house. "Frankly, I don't like you much," he went on, folding his arms against his chest, "but this hostility is more of an obstruction than anything else. That's what I'm willing to push it aside and solve this once and for all if you're up to it. What do you say?"

"You sure got balls sayin' that after havin' the rings destroyed. Do you even know how those rings worked?! I'm pretty damn sure your boss knew." He would have at least had to go through the inheritance trial, where he would have met Giotto. He paused to grab the collar of the man's clothes so that he could get right up in his face, he couldn't give half a shit if the stupid minions took a swing at him for it. He wanted to make sure Hayato heard every damn word he said.
"Well, if you didn't consider this a nice little lesson from your predecessor: Each Vongola ring holds the will of the according first Vongola guardian. When you destroyed the rings, you destroyed my family. I spent about a century in that thing, makin' sure no one used it for anything that would go against the ideals of the Vongola. I've been keepin' up my duties to the Vongola long after I needed to. Tell me, just what did you do?"
And with that he pushed Hayato away, and continued walking.
"I'll still do what I need to as part of the Vongola and try to get you back to your home... but I'm stayin' here, and so is Ugetsu. We don't have anythin' to go back to at this point." He was sure Ugetsu would put up a fuss, but with Giotto gone it was his duty to decide what was best for the family as second-in-command. It was his decision that staying here and possibly losing themselves was a better fate than returning to the broken rings. At least here... they would have each other. He could only hope that Giotto and Lampo would return as well.
This is seriously so overdue. Sorry. orz
Okay, if G.'s anger wasn't so completely justifiable, Gokudera wouldn't have been able to resist the urge to knock him down flat for the unwarranted shove. He did not like to be physically jostled in that way. But he was willing to suppress his own rising temperament to clear the matter up.
"I know perfectly well how the goddamn rings work," he responded, straightening his robe, "and, you're right, the Tenth knew it too when he made that decision." He paused momentarily to allow the redhead enough time to process that information before he continued. "Don't think I'd agreed to it," he said with a visible edge to his tone, "It was a stupid and unnecessary move, but I couldn't stop him." Running an aggravated hand through his hair, he took a deep breath, "Some crap about 'keeping the peace' and 'avoiding conflict'. It was supposed to be a 'sound decision' and his orders were clear. I'd have tried to change his mind if I knew how fucked up everything ended up turning out to be. But who can honestly stop him when his mind is made up?"
He could feel the anger begin to creep up the more he spoke of the Boss. Ever since that discussion with Hibari, his thoughts and emotions were filled with a turmoil of rage and internal conflict. It was definitely a touchy subject and it seemed their conversation was swerving in that direction dangerously fast, so he did what he could only do at this point. He changed the subject to a less rocky one. "We have our younger selves working on mending the situation now though. There's still some semblance of hope left." Even if he wasn't even sure if they could actually accomplish beating Byakuran. Faith wasn't something he had a lot of these days, but he was counting on them nonetheless.
S'all good~ IT IS BEAUTIFUL AN WORTH IT!
He ran his hand through his hair and just heaved a sigh. Clearly the boy... man didn't, otherwise that ring wouldn't have been destroyed. It was too precious to the Family. Ah, who was he kidding it wasn't the jewelry that was hitting a sore spot. He shook his head and grunted in irritation. This was a mess. This whole damn thing was just a big shitty mess, and there was nothing he could do about it. Not a single damn thing.
"Dammit kid, I woulda helped ya had I known! That's what I was in there for!" G shoved his hands in his pockets and began trodding forward again, the anger melting away into agitation, but he would need to accept this all sooner or later. "But it's too late for that now, ain't it? Hopefully you'll figure it out when you're younger somehow."
Oh, good. =w= See? They've cleared things up finally.
Of course, even if they knew there were additionial energy stored into the rings, it might have strengthened the Tenth's position more than it already had, so the result could have potentially been the same. It was pointless to speculate on the past though. "We're placing our last hopes on them. I can't guarantee anything and, at this stage, I have no way to contact anybody in our home world to find out the progress so far." His brows furrowed in obvious frustration. "And, seeing how the escape plan failed, I doubt we'll be heading back any time soon."
