[EVENT] Battle Log One

What: The Minions Attacking
Warnings: Possible death, violence and cursing, so PG-13. Remember, if you die, you will resurrected by The Rulers and shackled. If you are injured, you will be immediately shackled and grouped with the others. We will be posting to this log as minions.


While the minions kept stealing items, it didn’t seem like that stopped the denizens from doing what they wanted to. This did not please the Rulers, no, not one bit! So, as the boat took off, the Emperor took the literal wind away from the sails, making the ocean a still as could be. There is a long moment of complete silence; no trees ruffling in the wind, no leaves rolling down the cobblestone streets of the districts, nothing.

At the beach, the minions begin to appear, giggling oddly and looking at the boat with malicious grins. Some of them are carrying weapons, some of them with glowing hands that signify magic. Behind them are Justice and Judgment, looking grim as they signal the attack. The minions begin their attack, either with weapons or magic, aiming directly for the boat and the passengers.

I haven't." Shouichi looked disappointed and frustrated now, trying not to look too mad at himself that him and Karkat couldn't figure it out just yet.

Howl watched the battle around them for some time in silence. He didn't look like he was thinking, but he was. Shouichi might believe that the conversation had ended at that until Howl speaks again.

"What's your approach?"

"With the communicators. Originally, it was to see exactly what could be done about opening them. Once I did so, however, it just kind of exploded glitter on me and my friend." Shouichi said, adjusting his glasses, "Lately, I've been trying to figure out how much they can take before they are broken, and by proxy, finding out if that will atleast break them apart long enough fro me to see how they work."

"Don't they function on magic as well as technology, however? Maybe it would help to examine them from a magic user's perspective." Howl was careful in avoiding mention that he himself could use magic. If disobeying the Rulers led to this kind of consequence, he didn't want any part of it.

"True, but I still don't really think I'm sold on the whole magic idea. It's a little too supernatural for my tastes." Shouichi said, even thought there was proof all around him that magic ran this place.

"Do you know anything about magic?"

"A little," he replied. "I'm a wizard."

Fat lot of help that is when he can't even access magic right now. He'd give anything to have his fire demon here right now to help him.

"...You're kidding right?" Shouichi said, looking highly skeptical for someone who came from a world where people used magical flames to fight with each other, "Magic isn't real."

"No." Howl didn't look offended at Shouichi's words. A little startled, maybe. That's all. "It exists. You can see it being used to keep us prisoner here. Those two there," he points to Justice and Judgement, "are using magic as well. It's different to what I'm used to, but it's magic."
