[EVENT] Battle Log Two

What: Escape from the Castle
Warnings: Possible death, violence and cursing, so PG-13. Remember, if you die, you will be automatically sent home and to sleep until the May 2 day change.

Upon realizing that everyone was saving themselves, The World finally broke free and woke everyone up immediately. Her voice echos across the castle, the dungeon opening up to the forest, which she hoped they would take quickly.

“Hurry, please get back to your homes, I can only hold some of the minions but so much.” She says, sounding strained. The Empress screams out after her, her voice booming.

“Yes, please get back to your homes, if I don’t kill you first!”

With that, you have the choice to fight again, but either way, you’re going to be expelled to the forest and chased by minions and monsters until you get safely to your home.

[Upon hearing the World speak to them, Sora took no time to think about what she would do. Obviously, she bolted out of their prison and into the forest. Looking behind her, she wasn't watching for the minions but rather for anyone who decided to follow her.]

[Prussia had seen her and decided to follow and try to help her, if needed. He had claimed her as a citizen, after all.]

[Hey less creepy nation man! She's glad to see you as she jumps over branches and other things in the forest. Personally still wishing she had pants instead of this stupid dress.]

Howl had bolted like a rabbit. He was good at that. As the wizard fled through the trees he resolutely kept his eyes ahead of him though the branches grasped at his fluttering jacket and hidden roots tried to trip him up. His physical stamina being none too good, he was soon gasping for breath and paused in the shadow of a thick trunk to regain his wind.

Hibari had been one of the last ones to leave, since it was hard to decide whether to stay and bite the Rulers to death, or to leave and wait for another day to do so. Obviously, he'd eventually taken the latter option (it wouldn't be easy to bite them to death without any weapons) - despite lagging behind, he quickly catches up to the rest of the escapees, in particular one wizard that was weakly panting against a tree, clearly winded.

It takes but a second for him to decide what to do - Howl could possibly be useful later on - so he marched up to the wizard, grabbed his collar, and pulled him along, navigating the woods with ease, though slightly slowed by the other man he was now dragging along.

"I thought you were good at running," he remarks, hardly out of breath, even as he leaps over a fallen log, still pulling the wizard behind him.

Yoink! Howl stumbles at first but then regains his footing. He clambers hastily over the fallen log (making a dismayed noise when he gets a tear in his trousers) and does his best to keep up with Hibari.

"Not this kind of running," he says breathlessly. "I hide with magic."

His toe stubs into a rock and he almost falls flat on his face.

Man, you're so slow. Despite all the stumbling from the wizard, the two of them are making relatively good time - now that he thinks about it, it would most definitely be easier if he was on his own. Oh well. He'd chosen to drag Howl along - he would have to stick with him until the end.

"Useless in this situation." Stating the obvious? Why the hell not! Oh... Look what's blocking their way. A gigantic bear. Wonderful, he needed to get some anger out of his system. He lets go of Howl's collar, shoving the other back a small distance, all the while not taking his eyes off of the bear, which roars and rears on its back legs - it'd be best if he had room for this one.

"Run, wizard."

[ Instead of immediately running as fast as she can, Usagi still lingers a little for a few moments - looking to see if there's still anyone left behind who needs help or who she can take with her. Leaving anyone behind and letting them get hurt.. it just doesn't feel right to her.

Partner up with her to run? ]

[So, it appears as though everything had gone to hell once again... aahh he figured as much, there was no way they could get out of here without there being at least some drama or violence. Not like he was complaining really, it made everything all that more interesting.

...Except, there was a little lady that he was supposed to be protecting. They were going to meet up after the dream sequences, and he had yet to find her. His current mission was to find that redhead and get the hell out of here.]

[ Ange quickly moved to find him as well, despite everything that had happened in the dreams. He was still her bodyguard, after all, and.. she still loved him, still wanted to rely on him and trust him, believe in those words he had said. So she was partially busy with finding the way out of the castle towards the forest, but at the same time she was also looking for him along the way.

It was then that she managed to spot him around a corner, quickly running towards him. Her expression was still fairly lineface, but there was something a little more tense about it, a little more on-guard. ]

Amakusa..!

[Oh, as soon as he heard his name he stopped right away. He glanced over and saw her coming right for him. He still had that smile on his face, making it seem like the situation wasn't as dire as it really was.]

Oh lady! Took you long enough!

[He quickly took her hand once she was close, taking off into a sprint and pulling her along. It was time to get out of this damn castle. After he rounded a corner he spotted the entrance, and he knew that his little lady would be able to keep up with him. She was quick after all- he had seen those skills of her when she was running from the Sumaderas.]

[ Of course she was able to keep up with him. Even though he had more training, she had plenty of experience due to events back in their world as well, so despite him obviously being much stronger than her she doesn't match up as badly against him agility-wise.

Besides, this was the kind of situation that literally meant running for her life. Not like she had any choice but to run hard, keeping up with him. Ange didn't even complain about holding hands, didn't tsun like she usually would. This wasn't the time nor the place for it, all that was important was escaping.

At least they managed to make it out of the castle like that, into the forest. ]

[Even if Ange were to complain about holding hands or anything, he would have just ignored her and kept on running. They were out of that fortress and running out into the lush forest, and he knew that this would still be a challenge.

There were animals out here, wild beasts- and as he ran with her he quickly glanced over his shoulder, noticing the minions and other monsters coming after them. Hah- this was going to be fun.]

We got company lady! [he still had that smirk on his face though.]

Howl doesn't need telling twice. He sprints as fast as he can away from the bear that's just taken a swipe at the man-god. Interpreting 'run' as synonymous to 'get the HELL out of there', he crashes through bushes and leaps and ducks under branches (terror seems to have temporarily given him some acrobatic skill) without looking back once.

Of course, this means he gets hopelessly lost after a minute of running without thinking. Pausing to catch his breath again, he squints past the foliage to try and discern where the sun is. Not that he really knows which direction safety lies.

The worst thing is, he can hear growling. It does not sound friendly.

Sorry, you're not going to get any help from him for right now - he's busy playing a curb stomp battle with this bear. Where he's the winner, of course.

When the beast is lying defeated on the ground, head smashed in, he wanders back off towards the direction in which he'd seen Howl take off, after Hibari had told him to run. At least the man was intelligent enough to follow orders, not that there really was a need to resist that particular order. Soon enough, he happens upon a trail of crushed undergrowth - he can also hear growling up above, but doesn't bother hurrying, still picking his way along the trail of destruction as if he's got all the time in the world to do so.

What does he see when he reaches Howl?

[ It wasn't too difficult to notice they were being chased. After all, it wasn't as if their chasers were actually being quiet. But they were only more incentive to keep running for her life - for both their lives. If only they could make it out of the forest and to their homes, that's what the World girl had been talking about, right?

Still, despite the situation and the fact she's running, being half-pulled along by him, Ange still has a deadpan tone when she speaks up. ]

Are you seriously excited even at an idea like that, Amakusa?

[When Ange asked him such a thing he let out a hearty laugh!! Of course he was still excited, at least on the outside he was just acting as if he was, but internally he knew that they wouldn't make it if they were to fall behind now.]

Why not? It's been a while since we've had to run for our lives!

[Even as he said that, he held her hand a little tighter, running and ducking as they went through the forest. He wasn't sure how long they could outrun them before they would have to face them- but he had a feeling they would be attacking them soon enough.]

Yeah, it's just so much fun, isn't it? I was almost starting to miss that old hag.

[ She knew he was probably not fully serious, despite her earlier question - by now she at least understands him a little (even if some of the inner workings of that guy are still a complete mystery to her), enough to know that even he can't be fully casual in a situation like this, mostly just on the outside.

Ange was at least making sure to be careful when she ran. It wasn't easy in a forest, after all, she had to make sure she wouldn't accidentally trip over a branch so she couldn't run on anymore. She at least trusted him enough to lead her down the right way, so as long as she just made sure to keep up.. she couldn't help but glance over her shoulder a few times at the approaching minions and monsters. They just had to make it out alright, they couldn't lose now they were so close to semi-freedom again..! ]

[If this were any other situation Amakusa would have been laughing about Kasumi's fun fun underground tea room. However, he knew that if they didn't continue to run and dodge anything that came their way they would soon fall victim to whatever torments those creatures wanted to do to them. Or rather, they would probably kill them as soon as they got the chance.

Amakusa glanced over his shoulder again and he saw a weapon come flying their way- Amakusa quickly pulled Ange to the side, dodging that spear as it flew past them.]

Whoa-hoh! They really don't like us!

[ There was a brief moment when she held in her breath out of surprise at the weapon, even if it sailed right past him due to his quick reaction - it was more out of human nature that she couldn't help but do it for the briefest moment, she quickly tried her best to seem unfazed again right after. ]

Really..? And here I thought they were about to invite us for a party.

[ Their funeral party, maybe-- she couldn't help but add that mentally as she made sure to run on, lead by him and trying to keep an eye out for more things being thrown their way. ]

[Just as he was about to say something back to her, he saw yet another weapon come flying their way. It was an arrow, and he knew that if he didn't act in time Ange would get skewered by that thing.

He moved- purely on instinct, and he soon tackled the younger girl, the two of them moving out of the way- and eventually they had rolled out of sight, out of harm's way... for the time being. Amakusa Slowly moved- he was on top of Ange and he glanced around, noticing that they were covered by some lush bushes and the like.

Ange might feel something warm on her, he had been pierced by that arrow- it went right through him and the head of it was just barely out of his chest. It all happened so quick, Amakusa didn't even notice. He looked down at her and tried to speak up-... ah.... there was some liquid coming up from his throat and running down his chin. Blood... shit, he knew he was a goner already.]

You okay Ange-san? [he still tried to smirk, but even that was hard.]

[ She let out a surprise sound when he suddenly grabbed her and rolled away with her. What was he doing at a time like this, at this rate they would catch up with them and they'd be in serious troubl--

... What.. was that warm liquid she suddenly felt dripping down on her? Once her vision fully returned to her, her urge to shout at him immediately died away. Instead Ange's expression actually stopped being lineface for once to turn downright shocked when she noticed that arrow head sticking out of his chest. Back there.. he had been hit by that? He had pushed her.. to push her out of the way? No way, even if he was her bodyguard, her boyfriend, she didn't expect something like this..! Protecting her was one thing, but a wound this serious..

She couldn't even muster up an answer to his question, instead she moved up her hand with the same shocked expression to his face, feeling the blood on his chin as if to see if it's real or not. If this was really happening. And.. it was, the red liquid covered her hand as well when she touched it.. --no, no way.. ]

Am.. Amakusa..? [ Her voice was surprisingly soft and fragile compared to usually when it finally came out of her throat. ]

[Ah.... and now the pain came flooding towards him, that sharp and agonizing feeling that was rooted within his chest. He still held that same expression, however- still trying to be strong for her and trying to show her that he was really going to be okay. Who was he kidding though? He wasn't going to live... this was a wound no one could recover from that easily. He was her bodyguard, he had to protect her... the one time he listens to orders and actually does his job, he ends up with an arrow through his chest.

Amakusa coughs, the blood splattering out of his mouth and going all over her, more of that warm liquid seeping from him. He tried to swallow, but the taste of metal was almost too much. Even so, he tried his best to speak.]

L...looks like this is the ....en...end for me Ange-san. You're going to have to... keep going... [he inhaled, rather shakily.] ...you should get to freedom...b-before those guys find you.

[ She didn't even care about the fact she was getting covered in blood here as well, or the fact that those minions were still around somewhere, even if they wouldn't be able to find them in these bushes.. All Ange could think about was the man above her, as much as she would normally never admit that. That man and his life that was slowly starting to trinkle away.. and yet he was still smiling like that, as if this was just a usual situation between the two of them?

Ange felt her eyes growing a little watery. Was she really going to cry in front of him for the second time in such a little while.. no way she could normally allow herself to do that, right? Then why could she slowly start to feel the tears coming out already..? ]

N-.. no way.. What about you then, Amakusa..? [ She felt so pathetic like this, so weak and vulnerable, but the idea of losing him right when they almost got out fine was just.. too much for her. ] You'll come with me, right..?

[Crying...? Was she crying-? Ah, it was becoming more and more difficult to see. His vision was growing blurry, everything around him was becoming to dull, so numb. It was hard to stay hovering above her like this even. Amakusa smirked yet again, laughing a bit.]

Sorry... you'll have to go on your own... [with the strength he had left he pushed himself off of the ground, leaning back so he was in a sitting position. He looked down at his chest and... yeah- this was no good. It was hard to breathe, obviously something was punctured here. He inhaled yet again- but it was as though he couldn't get any breath...]

C...come on... don't cry for me... I'm not < cool > enough for that... heha...! A-..ahh...gh... [well, laughing hurt. That wasn't a good idea. He coughed yet again, and he saw more blood come out of him.]
