Howling in shadows

Who: Werewolf Domon and open.
When: Any time between afternoon on day 83 and the end of the event.
Where: In the forest during the day, anywhere on the island at night.
What: Domon tried to break his mirror and the werewolf took control. He will be especially violent on night 84 due to the full moon.
Warnings: Violence, blood, and bad injuries. I will update if necessary.
Other: Please specify time and place in the subject, Thanks!

The mirror had changed Domon to the point he hardly felt human anymore. Ears long and pointed, teeth sharp, longer fingers, nails sharpened into claws, black fur covering his back and legs, feet turned to paws and lengthened until he stood on only his toes. But all of that he could deal with as long as he was still himself inside. But it seemed the Rulers were intent on changing all of them completely. Once he realized the mirror was affecting his mind as well, he locked himself in his room so he couldn't hurt anyone. In an act of desperation he finally tried breaking the mirror even though he knew it was likely trapped. And in that moment the Werewolf took over his mind completely.

With a loud crash he broke out the window and escaped through it, running off towards the forest. Those that meet him that day or early that night will meet him as still being slightly more physically human. After that he will finish changing and become completely the werewolf, as if there was a full moon. He will hunt for food but be less dangerous when he's not hungry.

But the full moon will come out on night 84, and in an already transformed state it will fill the werewolf with nothing but the need to kill, regardless of whether he is hungry or not. He will recognize no one, not even those that vague human memories cause him to consider packmates. Those encountering him on this night will be badly hurt... if not worse.

Monster vs monster in the park very late the night of 83?

Hajime had looked too long and too hard into the mirror--it was like it had a spell over him, one he couldn't quite break. The sight of his denizen, the Beast of Beauty and the Beast, disturbed and distracted him enough that he failed to look away as much as he should have. Before long, he'd transformed almost completely into some monstrous hulk of a Beast. It's not doing much for his mood.

The Beast's instincts are only just starting to bubble up to the surface, but really, at this point, all they're making Hajime do is feel incredibly lonely and start staring at roses...but that doesn't mean he's not dangerous. He's a combative cuss on his own on a good day, although at the moment, all he's trying to do is take a walk to clear his head.

Lost as he was in his own brooding lonely beastly thoughts, Hajime wasn't aware of the other predator until it was too late. The werewolf was all over him, and he was not at all happy about that. Both sets of his instincts, his own Undead mind and the Beast's, demanded that he respond to such aggression with aggression of his own.

The werewolf was making this sort of hard, what with the way he'd landed on Hajime. The weight and getting hit by those claws wasn't helping. Hajime's response was a roaring beastly bellow as he spun around wildly, trying to dislodge the other creature. Domon's leap had knocked him off balance, but it wasn't quite enough to force him to the ground just yet.

The werewolf's digging in hurt, thus further enraging both The Beast's instincts and what remained of Hajime's. He needed to do something to dislodge his attacker and go on the offensive, but thinking of some sort of brilliant plan just wasn't in the cards. The Beast's body was too unfamiliar for Hajime to fight effectively, and The Beast wasn't exactly known for his tactical combat abilities. He took off at a staggering run towards a nearby tree, intending to slam his attacker into it--or uselessly body-slam a tree, depending on whether or not the attack succeeded.

The werewolf's grip weakening was only a good sign, and since the tree-slamming had worked so well before, the Beast decided to try it again in an attempt to completely dislodge his foe. What remained of Hajime's instincts badly wanted a face-to-face fight; that was a scenario he'd feel much more suited for.

Well, now that Hajime had dislodged the werewolf, he felt...sore. Really sore. He was bleeding from several wounds now, and while his own instincts demanded that he make the other creature pay, the Beast really was more interested in not getting killed in a fight.

The Beast snarled and took a step back, now seeming a bit uncertain as the two sets of instincts struggled against each other.

The Beast snarls fiercely in return, but he's taking multiple steps back now. He's still not turning to run, as he doesn't want to turn his back to the werewolf lest he gets jumped again. The part of him that is still Hajime is quite irritated at this turn of events, but the Beast's instincts are far too strong for him to resist.

For a brief, tense moment, it looks as though Hajime's instincts might push through and the Beast might lash out, but that is not to be the case. He takes a few more hesitant steps backwards before turning and bolting as quickly as he can. The thought of continuing a fight while so badly wounded is just too much for the Beast to handle.

The Beast, for his part, just keeps right on running, glancing back after the other occasionally until he is well out of the park. Once he realizes he is no longer being followed, he relaxes slightly, and, very aware of his wounds, starts to make his way back home.

Day 84 *Yeah, you know she's that dumb for friendship*

[personal profile] dreamsonwings 2012-06-13 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
It wasn't helping that the mirrors were quickly changing everyone on the island and the urge to get out of the house was at it's strongest. Apparently, gypsies hate being in stone buildings or at least can't stay there for a long time without getting fidgety.

Or perhaps it was that Domon had gone running off and the whole thing worried her. Whichever it was, Sora found herself at the edge of the forest. There had to be no other place where he could be.
dreamsonwings: (Oh god what is that?!)

[personal profile] dreamsonwings 2012-06-17 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That noise was the definite thing Sora needed in order to know that something was coming this way and really quick! It was instinct(her's or Esmeralda's, they were the same) that made her grab the tree branch above her and pull herself up into it.

That's some big freakin wolf right there and thankfully, the claws got a bit of her dress bottom and not skin. Close call but still.
dreamsonwings: (Sora in pain)

[personal profile] dreamsonwings 2012-06-23 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Sheesh wolfie, you really are pissed off at something! Whatever it was, she didn't cause it this time...well, Sora didn't think so. Right now, she had to get away from the wolf. However as she jumped out of reach, she kind of miscalculated: it was enough for the claws to get her arm pretty good.

"Nngh-!"
dreamsonwings: (Someone help me)

[personal profile] dreamsonwings 2012-06-25 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
She yelped as she tried to move out of the way, only to slip and hit hard on the ground. The most she could do at this point was to roll away from the wolf and find a spot where he couldn't get to her.
dreamsonwings: (Saved!)

[personal profile] dreamsonwings 2012-07-02 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
You bet she's taking that head start. As much as she wants to help him out, it looks like he's not listening so what was the point? Sora hated to leave but if she didn't want to die, she would have to.

Nighttime 84. Lurking in the shadows.

[personal profile] fools_journey 2012-06-14 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
The closer Minato is to becoming his denizen, the less he sleeps and the more he prowls and patrols the island, even venturing deep into the forest (though never all the way to the castle) as the sense of things - creatures, plants, anything - slowly dying draws him on. But now tonight, a new urge comes upon him, and he knows the risk of someone dying tonight is high, so he is out and waiting and watching. His grey eyes gleam dully in the moonlight, as he soars overhead on black feathered wings, occasionally perching on a tree or landing on the ground to examine things more closely.

And when he hears the howl, he follows it...

And wheeling back and away Minato does, nearly catching himself on the branches in his efforts to avoid the claws. It is not so much that he strictly speaking minds injury - nor does his denizen - but it would be inconvenient to be yanked out of the air mid flight.

Still, curiosity gets the better of him, and after circling, he attempts to land in another tree, where he gets a better view of things below it.

Minato feels that bird's death but does not regret it. Everything that lives in turn eventually dies, after all, and new life cannot come if old life does not step aside to give it room, though the small niggling part of him that is still Minato Arisato and not Thanatos is uncomfortable with the complete lack of care. There is such a thing as too much detachment, after all.

But the brief concern is quickly forgotten in the face of observing the werewolf and calculating if there is any good place to watch him or if all perches are in his grasp. If the latter, then the deathly god decides he'll need to simply circle, if he wants to watch....

He doesn't rest long before he pushes off into the air again, flapping to gain altitude to better see the werewolf between branches.
