[EVENT] The Visitations

Who: All Characters
When: November 29-December 19
Where: Your Home
What: The Visits
Warnings: For language and other dark elements.

This is going to go a certain way! Each time there is a visitation by a ghost, we will post a thread. Then, we will respond to that thread, if you indicate you want us to do so, or if you will have other characters in the thread. Remember, the Ghost of Christmas Past will have all your characters in the same moment of time, so if you want to be able to interact with each other, go ahead. Additionally, you will be viewing the moment in time that your denizen was killed from a third person perspective, so you can meet up with anyone during that time, but you cannot talk to your denizen. Once your denizen is dead, you are free to move around the island.

During the viewing with the Ghost of Christmas Present, you will be in the same situation, but only able to view things within your own canon. This means you can’t really speak to anyone but the NPC of the Ghost, which will be played by the mods.

For when The World shows up, we will have a separate thread for her and Kuma will be responding to you with her. You can freely talk to anyone here as well, in the game.

If there are any questions please respond to the thread provided below.

[Rational, she says. How many other people are going to manage these scenes rationally? Waver laughs lowly at the thought] I don't think your wrong that this is a warning, but I think that it is also a discouragement against arms. After all, how can a small group of us hope to fight a group with not only the amount of power required to fell all the previous inhabitant, but to make it so that we can collectively see those past memories?
entreats: (and if you could have)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-06 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I think they already gave that to most of us to begin with that one time we tried to escape.

.. Then again, a lot of people have arrived since then. [ like the guy right here, huh? ] So maybe they're doing it for you guys' sake. [ That would explains why Ange still seems relatively calm too.. ]
gordianknots: A nicer girl there's surely never been (And formal debating)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-06 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
That might follow. [Waver sighs, tucks the notebook under his arm] It does seem strange that there's been no concluding words from them about this. I find that worrying.

[then again--] I also find myself in need of a cup of tea. Assuming that there's no restrictions on leaving, would you care for one as well?
entreats: (because all the walls of dreaming)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-07 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Honestly, the invitation - sort of simple considering the circumstances, but maybe some normalcy in the middle of it might actually be nice for once - comes as more of a surprise than this whole thing did. So for a moment or two Ange blinks idly, as if she's wondering if he really asked that, but.. then her expression seems to calm a little, more than the serious and somewhat tense way it was before. ]

I wouldn't exactly mind that, I suppose.

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-07 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, best get moving then.

[Tea is such an automatic response to all of this, but it is also an opportunity to get back into a house where things can be thought about and processed properly. So, he starts walking, casting a look over his shoulder to make sure Ange is with him]
entreats: (even if my fingertips don't reach you)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-08 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[ It's strange, walking here with all those half-illusions around.. not that she's scared of them, or even scared of the sight, but she still sticks with him a little closer than she normally would. It's just the most basic form of comfort, just having another person around. Even if she would deny it's because of that forever if anyone asked. ]

.. You're pretty lucky. I usually don't drink tea that much with others.
gordianknots: Please don't waste your pity votes on me (Your hypotheses have been confirmed)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-08 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Then I thank you for that trust and compliment.

[Waver only casts occasssionl glances as they walk. In Pompeii, they have plaster casts of the dead, caught in their final moments. To do that here would be informative and far too cumbersome a task if it was even possible. He'd do it in a heartbeat if it was.

So he pushes the thought out of his mind and walks into the door of his own house, heading right for the kitchen. Pointedly, he's done nothing to personalize the place, save for a cheerful red tea kettle and matching tea cups. Once he's put the teapot on the stove, he grabs one of the cups and holds it out to Ange]
Any preferred tea blend?
entreats: (because there's nothing left to say)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-09 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
Anything would be fine. [ It's a mixture of honest indifference as to it, and said difference being enhanced even more due to the situation. Anything at all would be fine now, really, she can't help but think that as she stares down at the cup she's holding.

She immediately makes herself comfortable too, but it's in the usual Ange way.. which means that she just moves to sit down on top of the nearest table instead of properly taking a seat. ]
gordianknots: Please don't waste your pity votes on me (Default)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-09 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, two cups of Irish breakfast tea it is then. When the water has boiled, Waver goes about his usual method of making tea - putting the bags in first, then filling his cup to near overflowing territory. He doesn't dare do the same with Ange's, in case she requires sugar or milk, but once the kettle's down he does the second part of his tea ritual - mashing the bag around with a spoon until the tea is black enough. Water sloshes out on the counter and he has to grin. It's stupid how a cup of tea brings back a semblance of normalcy. Heck he'd even comment that her perching on a table is normal, but that'd just lead into one too many Adventures With Students territory.]

So then.
entreats: (honey help me out of this mess)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-10 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I take mine with sugar.

[ She quickly says that, as if she's avoiding more awkward topics right now while part of her still feels a little awkward after all of it. Her legs swing back and forth only slightly. ]

Just a little bit though. And don't listen to me if I ask for more later, those stupid Rulers did that to me.
gordianknots: I will not sing along (But the smell of leather is intoxicating)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-10 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Bowl's behind you, to your left. There's a spoon in it, I believe.

[and that looks like a small loophole for awkward joke to try and kill the strangeness of everything else that's happened today]

Really, they gave you a sweet tooth?
entreats: (trying to bloom in snow)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-11 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She moves the bowl over until it's right next to her, scooping sugar from it to put in the tea. ]

Yeah. Sort of comes with the job description when they're making you replace someone from Hansel and Gretel. [ Although she doesn't even notice she's already put three full tea spoons in there.. ]
gordianknots: How could you get it so wrong? (We're all brilliant minds)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-11 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm, you could just be becoming a humming bird if you're using that much sugar.

[He finally stops abusing the poor tea bag and walks it over to the bin] And I didn't know that was your assigned story. You actually never told me.

[back to the tea cup. God, taking a sip of the tea feels like a jolt back to normalcy]
entreats: (and i could hear the thunder)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-12 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
[ It's at his remark that she finally looks down at the fifth spoon of sugar she puts in her tea before grumbling something under her breath and shoving the sugar pot backwards. ]

I guess since it's usually never really relevant. I can't say I've told many people here before. [ And the clothing for it is embarassing, way too cutesy.. so she doesn't show it normally, but this is a different case. ]
gordianknots: A nicer girl there's surely never been (And formal debating)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-12 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose not.

[it feels wrong to say thank you for trusting me, so he doesn't. Instead Waver stares down into the brownish abyss that is his tea cup, thinking] I believe we were at the point of discussing how there's been no message given yet. Tell me, did you investigate that invitation to head to the centre castle earlier?
entreats: (just a cage of rib bones)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-13 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I didn't. Considering how it seemed like some obvious trap along with the fact that going towards the castle never ended well for anyone, I didn't want to risk it. [ Not that she isn't reckless usually. But this one was just so obvious she figured there was hardly any chance it was true.

She takes a sip of her tea, apparently not even wincing at the amount of sugar in it. ]
gordianknots: But you take the grand prize in ego-tist-icat-acrobatic master of conceit (But I will never go home again)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-13 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. I did investigate, this is apparently quote-un-quote punishment for heading to the castle or some such, but that seems an excuse almost.
entreats: (or else a love with intuition)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-14 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, so they literally said it's supposed to be some sort of punishment?

[ See, she still is curious what exactly went down with the people who did go there. And Waver is always an excellent source of information when it comes to this stuff. ]
gordianknots: I've got something better up my sleeve (And we will build Jerusalem)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-14 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose? I'll relay to you what occurred and defer to your judgement.

In walking through this ridiculous saccharine attempt at Christmas cliches, the American version of Father Christmas was within castle walls, along with another woman dressed as one of the elves - revealingly so, which I'm not even going to try and understand the reasons for. At any rate, upon arrival the following was said, verbatim: "Seems this lovely woman wanted me to help you get home, but I’ve noticed you’ve been very naughty this year. I’ll have to punish you."

From there it was a minion escort him, a letter of explanation that what would follow is quote-un-quote punishment and a reminder of one's place.

It occurs to me that re-reading that piece of paper might be a good idea.
entreats: (ooc; get out amakusa)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-14 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She's taking in all the information - and taking it seriously too, honestly! - but she can't help but remark one thing in that story.. ]

.. 'Revealingly so', huh. [ Somehow she's glad Amakusa didn't go. :| At least, not as far as she knows.. ]
gordianknots: I'm not one to rage against the scene (We excel at drama)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-14 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
The clothing choice was strange, since it was awfully cold out. Why are you so concerned with that detail?
entreats: (snow white is stitching up your circuit)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-15 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[ LIKE SHE'S GOING TO SAY OUT LOUD WHY SHE'S CONCERNED. Nope, nope, way too embarassing, steering around this topic. ]

It just stood out. [ Thank god for her pokerface ability. ] I didn't think the Rulers cared about stuff like that to begin with.
gordianknots: I will not sing along (But the smell of leather is intoxicating)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-15 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Then neither should we. What do you make of the rest of it?
entreats: (felt it in my fist; in my feet)

[personal profile] entreats 2012-12-15 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That they're just putting up their stupid little plays again. They really do like making everything symbolic, don't they? [ She still isn't over that one time they made the 'princes' kiss the 'princesses' awake. Worst and most embarassing moment of her life. ]
gordianknots: Please don't waste your pity votes on me (Your hypotheses have been confirmed)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2012-12-15 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
People are symbolic creatures, it probably helps turn the fear up. [he sighs and takes a long sip of his tea] So this is normal and we what, carry on like this isn't even happening?
