[EVENT] Boat Building Log
Who: France, Portugal, and YOU!
When: September 24th, all day
Where: North of the island, in various locations in the Rose District and the Docks
What: France and Portugal are implementing their boat plan into action. People help build a completed boat!
Warnings: Probably some mild language (either from hitting hands with hammers or minions stealing supplies).
(( ooc: All threads should be organized under the three threads below! You may lock threads as needed, or keep them open to everyone, it's up to you!
The Supply Gathering thread is for those characters who are going to be imagining up building supplies and nails and hammers and the like, in order to send them to the docks! You will be managed under Francis/France, who will be flitting from house to house to make sure people are summoning the right parts. When things start getting stolen, he'll also start summoning missing parts to try and make up for lost time.
The Building thread is for those characters who are going to be actually creating the boat on the docks! Occasionally, characters from the supply gathering camp will come and deliver things to you guys! You'll be managed under Afonso/Portugal, who will be making sure you're building according to his blueprints. Also be sure to look out for those pesky minions who will be stealing supplies and bogging down the boat-making process. Someone may have to start guarding the supplies, but you'll also have to hurry on the boat!
Lastly, the Provision Gathering thread is for after the boat is built. This is for helping summon weapons and food and storing it into the hold of the ship. These weapons can later be used in the fight against the minions later, but any guns will have a very limited ammo supply because the minions will catch everyone by surprise! Any actual fighting of the minions will be carried out in the log posted on the 4th of April.
If you have any questions about the boat building, you may post HERE and I will get back to you ASAP! ))

Open to anyone! :D
But honestly? He really was helping. After all, this was the best chance that he had of getting off of the island, though after he saw exactly how many people were planning to go on the boat, he was reconsidering. Dealing with crowds was never his forte, after all. Perhaps he'd stay and go up to the castle afterwards, after everyone else had gone, to teach those herbivorous Rulers a lesson. Yes, that sounded like a good idea.
:3 :3
Of course, being the trouble-magnet that he is, he can't help but notice those who skulk at the sidelines, or whose body language is less than excited to be off the island.
...Or those who seem to be actively sabotaging the efforts of the kidnappees. It's only logical, once you think it through, considering the Rulers must know what's happening at the docks. If they're somehow prevented from exiting the castle, minions would make the most sense as a preventative measure.
So quite loudly and innocently (not deliberately loud at all, why would you ever think that), comes Conan's voice from the other side of the pile to Hibari, as a man is gathering up a complicated-looking piece of woodwork into his arms.
"Wow, niisan, that looks heavy! Can I help? Are you going towards the houses with that? Aren't you supposed to be going to the docks?"
aaahhhhhh Conan <3!!
There's no worry from him that it's another one of the abducted people, trying to help - he's already identified who was in charge of what, and who was working under whom to get the ship together, and since that man hadn't fallen under any of the categories, he'd wasted no time in disposing of the herbivore.
That taken care of, he turns to observe the boy that had called out in the first place with sharp golden eyes - the kid was unusually observant for being all of (Hibari was guessing) six... no, seven years? Eh, close enough.
"You're too loud," he comments idly, for all intents and purposes intent on adjusting the cuff of his sleeve. A pretense, though - he was still watching the young boy carefully.

holyshitholyshit he's as scary as Ran.
Conan stood wide-eyed for a solid few seconds, startled into laughing nervously as he was addressed.
He trotted a few cautious steps closer.
"But, hey, hey! How did you do that?" Arms spread wide for emphasis, looking enthusiastically curious. "That was so cool, how you just threw him away!"
no subject
"Obvious enough." He has this niggling feeling about the boy... Something tells him that the child in front of him is not all that he seems to be (or is trying to seem to be.) He can't pick up on exactly what it is yet, but there's definitely something wrong with the kid. His eyes narrow - yes, there's definitely something wrong. He's had enough experience with illusionists and their like to know when something is just... off. His next comment is cold, and it's much less of a request than a command, issued by one that was used to doing so.
"Identify yourself, herbivore." The boy was hiding something, and he wanted to know what.
no subject
"I'm Edogawa Conan! A detective!" Cue bratty grin.
no subject
"... You're hiding something, little herbivore." Spit it out, was the unspoken command.
no subject
"I'm not hiding anything, onii-- Hibari-san." Nervous fidget, nervous fidget.
Conan's doing quite well at keeping up the natural little kid act, but inside he's scrambling for something to throw to Hibari - something to get him off of his back that makes sense that he would be 'hiding'.
no subject
... Unless they were a certain noisy cow. But that's a story for another time - he's waiting impatiently for Conan's truthful answer, a foot tapping restlessly as he stares down at the boy with cold unblinking eyes.
no subject
He was playing off of memories of the detective boys here; how they'd act around things and what they did in situations like this. Spade had shown him well enough that his acting skills weren't up to par, and now, under this dangerous condition was definitely the best place to need them working.
no subject
"I know a liar when I see one, detective. You may be able to fool other herbivores with your act, but not me." He's hated illusionists and their like (liars, cheaters, filthy backstabbers) for so long, he's picked up on tells that identify them for what they are.
"The truth, before I tire of your little game."
no subject
"You're being mean, so I'm leaving!" Conan then completed the act by poking his tongue out at Hibari and swinging his arms out as he turned on one heel to leave (or attempt to).
no subject
"A normal child of your age would not be observant enough to notice that thief. This childish facade you use to deter anyone from asking more questions than needed does not work as well as you think it does." A pause to draw breath, before he continues. He doesn't care if he's being particularly harsh. "I am not an ignorant herbivore, easily fooled by cheap acting."
His other hand is now held up right next to the detective's ear - oh wait, it's just burst into flame! Isn't that pleasant, Conan? The heat radiating from it should assure the boy that it is very much real, and not just a magician's trick, designed to impress and awe weaker minds.
"I should burn your tongue out for your insolence." Abuse of denizen powers? Why the hell not.

Little did he know that he'd be able to have that chance soon. So he resigned himself to tamping down that irritation (right, that mocking dance really was going to get them a throttling), and notifying someone in his customary flat and unimpressed tone that they'd have to replace some supplies. That done, he returns to guarding the pile, stalking around it and keeping an eye out for the minions.
