[EVENT] Boat Building Log

Who: France, Portugal, and YOU!
When: September 24th, all day
Where: North of the island, in various locations in the Rose District and the Docks
What: France and Portugal are implementing their boat plan into action. People help build a completed boat!
Warnings: Probably some mild language (either from hitting hands with hammers or minions stealing supplies).

(( ooc: All threads should be organized under the three threads below! You may lock threads as needed, or keep them open to everyone, it's up to you!

The Supply Gathering thread is for those characters who are going to be imagining up building supplies and nails and hammers and the like, in order to send them to the docks! You will be managed under Francis/France, who will be flitting from house to house to make sure people are summoning the right parts. When things start getting stolen, he'll also start summoning missing parts to try and make up for lost time.

The Building thread is for those characters who are going to be actually creating the boat on the docks! Occasionally, characters from the supply gathering camp will come and deliver things to you guys! You'll be managed under Afonso/Portugal, who will be making sure you're building according to his blueprints. Also be sure to look out for those pesky minions who will be stealing supplies and bogging down the boat-making process. Someone may have to start guarding the supplies, but you'll also have to hurry on the boat!

Lastly, the Provision Gathering thread is for after the boat is built. This is for helping summon weapons and food and storing it into the hold of the ship. These weapons can later be used in the fight against the minions later, but any guns will have a very limited ammo supply because the minions will catch everyone by surprise! Any actual fighting of the minions will be carried out in the log posted on the 4th of April.

Well.... this was a first.

He never thought he'd ever have to actually help with this kind of thing, building a boat. It was all to get away from a place he's been stranded at with several other people. That's definitely the kind of thing you find in stories. Amakusa has a couple nails in his mouth, and he's using the hammer in his hand to beat the nails into the wood, making sure he's following the blueprints accordingly, actually listening to authority for once.

Ange.. wasn't much help with building itself, really. She had mostly been helping with getting material, since she was pretty helpful with that, but she was neither particularly strong nor really handy with building things (as expected of the daughter of a rich family) so she was more just watching during this point of the building process.

After all, it was only normal for a bodyguard and client to stick together at all times, if not just most of the time, right? So there was nothing weird about her sitting on the docks for a while as she watched him work. It was actually pretty funny almost to see him following orders for once, considering Ange more than anyone knows what he's actually like.

"I don't think I've ever seen you work this hard, Amakusa."

Amakusa took the nails out of his mouth, putting them down for a second. He looked over at her with that usual smirk on his face. Damn, he was helping out an she was just sitting there? He almost wanted to say something, but he should know better than to expect some heavy lifting from miss priss herself.

He takes off his hat, reaching up and wiping his forehead with the back of his hand, "yeah I haven't worked this hard in forever. Even being on the battlefield is more of a breeze than this. Physical labor like this just isn't my thing... can't I slack off a little? Maybe you can get me something to drink?"

He'd been puzzled at the sounds -- not that he didn't know what they were; he did. Very well, he knew such sounds. Why, he could deduce but who was doing this...and perhaps if he could help...He took a small risk in asking while trying to shut out memories of things he'd known before.

Shouichi felt really awkward, more so then usual. He often kept to himself so much he was never sure what to do when it came to things like this. But he wanted to get back home, mostly because he wanted to see where Byakuran went, and because he was feeling a little lonely. He didn't know many people here, and he was a little too shy to try.

Looking around, he walked until he could find someone to ask what he needed to do. Shouichi could at least get his way around tools.

Whistling a cheerful melody, America picks up different tools and works away on the ship's hull. He normally prefers his own plans and ideas, but he did agree to help, so here he is. (Though he might add his own spin to things later, 'cause anything American is totally an improvement, y'know?) He pauses and turns around when he hears some footsteps approaching. His grin spreads when he recognizes that face.

"Whoa, hey, it's Shou! Dude, how ya been?! Wanna give me a hand, bro?!" he calls, maybe a little loudly while waving Shouichi over.

Teddie was trying very hard to get the supplies over to the boat to get them ready for building. He wasn't sure how to work tools, but he could at least help out the best he could. It wasn't good for a bear to just sit around and not help. He would make sure to work hard, even if some of this stuff was a little heavy for him. Plus, he wanted to get home to Nanako and Souji...

[ Usagi knows about her own clumsiness, but she's determined to at least overcome it for this. The whole thing with the boat sounded pretty important, and it was important if it would really get everyone off the island.. in that case it's definitely something she has to help out with, hence why she finds herself by the docks to help out as well.

When she spots a familiar face though, she's easily distracted by that. ]

Minako found herself down at the docks; with the boat issue settled with Minato, it was time to chip in! But where to start? Wherever she should, she supposes... Spotting Teddie gives her a lead, though! Minako can't bear to watch a housemate suffer! And she'd bearly done anything yet, she wants to help! That's the bear truth! (And that's quite enough of those puns.)

"Teddie! Can I help with that?" Two hands are better than one, and Minako will gladly admit she's stronger than she looks.

Nura's dressed in the most mobile silks she could gather from her wardrobe. Tunic pants, a wrap modestly covering her torso, with hard-soled slippers covering her feet. She's got a few silks sewn together in order to make sturdier, stronger material. She's taking the fabrics to where the boat's building will soon commence, and spots a certain blonde-haired boy. My, that's quite a lot for one boy to carry, Nura notices. She slings the fabrics up and across her torso and moves swiftly toward Teddie.

"Need some help there, kiddo?"

Madoka had spent her time building the boat being a helpful little thing. In a way this was exactly what she was made for. She loved building, she loved tools... and even if this was not what she usually did, she felt at home.
Rushing around with tools, crawling into places other people where to tall for... Madoka was comfortable.
She had a smile for all of the other workers, but mostly she was concentrated. While she was ready to rush to help anybody with a problem, for the most part she focused on building.
It was fairly obvious that she was fully ready to continue doing so for the entire night, too.

Yoko wiped the the sweat off her forehead with the back of her hand as she paused in her work. Sure, she never built a boat before but she understood the concept very well from her experience in helping build other things. While wood and nails felt a little..odd to her, she was familiar with the tools from her own school building which remained quite old-fashioned compared to the sparkling technologies of Kamina City.

She leaned back, resting on her hands as she looked up at the sky to take a minor break in her handy work.

Portugal made his way through the work site with a critical eye--every now and then he'd stop and fix an angle, turn a person's hand the right way, make sure that everything was coming together smoothly. So far things had been quiet, too quiet, and he couldn't help but be nervous...if not a little excited.

The idea of freedom, of the sweet tang of salt air, the wind in his hair--before Portugal could snap out of his daydream of the life he used to life, he tripped straight over a pile of lumber and fell face first into the dirt beside Yoko.

Aren't you such a hard worker? Too bad the minions just took some of your tools right in front of you as well as some wood that you may have been using. Don't worry, they even stop to spare you a nice grin before they disappear.

Sometime after her chat with Portugal, England was wandering by. He was dressed in work-clothes, a tank-top, pants, boots, gloves, and he had a tool-belt. This was not his usual attire, especially considering what time-period he was from, but he was taking this very seriously. As far as he was concerned, this boat was his, and damned if he would let others tell him the way it should look.

As he passed by Yoko, England had to pause and check her over. Well, well, someone he hadn't seen before. She was quite a beauty, too. For a human, at least. He decided to talk to her, since she was working all by herself.

"How are you fairing, Miss?" he asked, handing her a cool bottle of water he had grabbed from an icebox along the way. "Do you need any assistance?"

The pile of building materials is being guarded by one very, very, possessive man. Hibari is currently skulking around the edges of the pile, never too close to the action to be considered part of it, but not too far away that he couldn't chase off any supply stealers if he had to. If anyone bothered to approach him, to thank him for looking after the supplies or something similar, he'd merely scoff and claim that he was doing this of his own selfish whims.

But honestly? He really was helping. After all, this was the best chance that he had of getting off of the island, though after he saw exactly how many people were planning to go on the boat, he was reconsidering. Dealing with crowds was never his forte, after all. Perhaps he'd stay and go up to the castle afterwards, after everyone else had gone, to teach those herbivorous Rulers a lesson. Yes, that sounded like a good idea.

Conan's not entirely sure he wants a part in this. He knows he wants off the island, but he doesn't know these people, or how organised they are. What are they like? Where are their alliances? Do they have any hope of success at all? So he's made a decision to watch, for now.

Of course, being the trouble-magnet that he is, he can't help but notice those who skulk at the sidelines, or whose body language is less than excited to be off the island.

...Or those who seem to be actively sabotaging the efforts of the kidnappees. It's only logical, once you think it through, considering the Rulers must know what's happening at the docks. If they're somehow prevented from exiting the castle, minions would make the most sense as a preventative measure.

So quite loudly and innocently (not deliberately loud at all, why would you ever think that), comes Conan's voice from the other side of the pile to Hibari, as a man is gathering up a complicated-looking piece of woodwork into his arms.

"Wow, niisan, that looks heavy! Can I help? Are you going towards the houses with that? Aren't you supposed to be going to the docks?"

Guarding? That doesn't bother the minions, Mr. Hibari! They show up and take a small bit of supplies, giggling right in front of him. The minions even hang around a bit, dance just for Hibari when they are far enough away, and disappear.

Okay, he had no idea how to build a boat. He had no idea how to build most things really. But he was good at following instructions. He could even fix his Gundam when Rain was there to tell him what to do, and compared to that a boat was easy. ...Right?

Still, he was strong enough to deal with the larger and bulkier items. At least he's useful despite needing instructions for every step.

Walking over to Domon was Afonso--he'd caught his eye as one of the stronger members of the plan, and he walked over at a brisk pace, catching his attention and clapping him on the shoulder. "How is everything going?"

Manual labor had always come as second nature to G. He hated not being able to get out and do something productive, and thus the moment he caught wind of the ship building he was outside and working without so much as telling anyone he was joining in. He knew how to work wood, though more delicately than this required. Luckily, through some inherited knowledge from his denizen, he was able to anage just fine.

So, long after discarding his shirt G stood with a group of the boards for the siding of the ship, working them into a proper curve so it could be nailed on. Though being out in the sun for so long didn't prove well for the pale red-head. His back and face sunburned to make his pale skin blend better with the his hair and the tattoo that ran down the right side of his face, back and chest. He doesn't pay any mind to it though. He's far too used to turning into a tomato getting burnt outside. It was a miracle he wasn't covered in freckles really.

Truthfully, if they were aiming to blow up a ship, that would have been an area where Gokudera would have shined. But, since it wasn't, he was stuck with the tedious task of putting a very giant boat together. It was a first time for everything, but, given his hobby of inventing things (disregarding the fact that they're usually explosives), he considered himself to be in fine shape for the job. It also provided him with the distraction he needed to escape all the negative thoughts and emotions that had come with the revelations he had received from Hibari just some time ago.

Arriving a tad bit late for the party, he retrieved some of the necessary supplies for the construction process before he found himself next to a certain redhead — a certain redhead he hadn't seen for quite a while. "G." The greeting was brisk and off-handed as he began his work. Not exactly too thrilled about seeing his predecessor so soon.
